Only 8 months after stepping onto the medalists ladder at the world championship in China, Kubrat Pulev proved his worth to the specialists that he is one of the best in his category of 91+ kg. After his bronze medal from the championship in Mianyang in November 2005, the boxer placed another bronze medal on his chest but this time from the championship in Plovdiv.
This is his first major win at the European championship for men and second biggest sport forum. In Plovdiv he was unstoppable in the ring but it wasn’t quite enough to beat the future champion Islam Timurziev from Russia. The silver went to Robert Elenius from Finland.
