Kubrat Pulev earned his first title in the professional ring. The Bulgarian won the Intercontinental belt of the International Boxing Federation in heavyweight category after an excruciating 12 round fight against Travis Walker. Despite getting a tough arcade in the middle of the fight from the American, The Cobra still managed to kill all doubt that he is the higher lever boxer and even had the opportunity to knock out his opponent.
At the end all three judges ruled over the victory to Kubrat with 119:109, 118:109 and 117:110 points. That way Pulev proudly earned to wear the valuable belt. Pulev continues being undefeated at the professionals with 14 victories (6 of them with a knockout) out of 14 matches.
The Cobra fought for the first time 12 rounds but presented an excellent physical endurance and cracked the 32-year-old Walker who has 38 victories behind him and 7 losses. Over the past year the American made it difficult for the ex world champion Ruslan Chagaev (from Uzbekistan) who he lost by points.
The match between Pulev and Walker was held in the German city of Ludwigsburg and the Bulgarian proved the bookmakers’ forecasts saying that he will for sure be the winner. Pulev was more aggressive from the beginning and his punches often times got to his opponent’s head. Suddenly he received the arcade and there was a serious chance that would be the end of the fight. The Bulgarian proved his manhood and continued to dominate the obviously exhausted Walker. In the 11th round the American was barely standing on his feet after a series of hard punches. The last 3 minutes proved Kubrat’s superiority while the audience chanted him to be the winner.
