Kubrat Pulev managed to keep his intercontinental title at IBF by fighting Michael Sprot with a technical knockout in the 10th round. The match was a part of an international gala of professional boxing in Ofenburg, Germany.
It is known that the Bulgarian was supposed to fight the American Moris Harris and then the Ukranian Taras Bidenko. Both of them dropped out due to injury. That way Kubrat’s rival was veteran Michael Sprot.
The fight started rough for the Bulgarian who got arcade in the first round after a forbidden punch when Kubrat got hit with a head bump. Gradually The Cobra took initiative. After the gong after the end of 9th round the circumstances seemed the Bulgarian had the judges favor.
So there was no round 10 due to Sprot not willing to return to the ring. That way Pulev won with a technical knock out to keep his belt which he won in October last year by winning over Travis Walker.
Kubrat Pulev is still unbeatable in professional rings with his 15 victories (7 of them with a knockout). Current loser Michael Sprot currently has 54 fights and 36 victories.
