The Management of the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski” awarded Kubrat Pulev with a Honorary medal after his great win over Dereck Chisora for the European Heavyweight title.
The Awarding ceremony was held today in the building of the Academy in Sofia. The Honorary Medal was presented to Bulgarian Cobra by the Rector of the Sports academy prof. Pencho Geshev.
Among the official guests were a number of legends of Bulgarian sports led by the two-time Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Petar Kirov, Dimitar Berbatov, the deputy chairman of Bulgarian Olympic Commetee – twice Olympic medalist in the high jump Yordanka Blagoeva.
The event also attended the Deputy Mayor of the District Student Svetoslav Yordanov.
“With so many associate professors, professors and academics for me it is a great honor to be here among you. “I continue to learn and keep walking forward at the Academy,” said Kubrat Pulev.
“When I fail at an exam, I feel bad, but not for long, because the National Sports Academy is a wonderful place to be part of and it’s great to study here, among such intelligent, young and educated people. Thank you”, added Pulev.
The ceremony was made to celebrate the upcoming 24th May – the Day of Slavonic Alphabet, Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture. Along with Pulev were also awarded other athletes as the winner of the World Cup in snowboarding – Radoslav Yankov, his coach Georgi Atanasov and the bronze medalist at the European Championships in Biathlon – Vladimir Iliev, plus many other champions and students at the academy.
